Research 101: A Student’s Guide to Getting Started

This guide covers what many students wish they knew when starting research for the first time. It includes practical tips on choosing a topic, contacting professors, and figuring out how to begin.

Step 2: Finding Faculty

Finding Faculty

Look up professors in your department or related fields who are doing research on topics that align with your interests. You can find this information on university websites, lab pages, or by reading recent publications.

After you identify potential faculty that you are interested in working with, start developing a list of professors you must reach out to.
