TIPS FOR MAXIMIZING YOUR CHANCES OF FINDING A RESEARCH POSITION:

  2. Contact more than one faculty member at a time.

  3. Personalize each email. Don't just send a copy-paste message to everyone. 

  4. Be concise in your email. Keep it between 5-7 sentences long. 

  5. Use your university email when initiating contact.

  6. Attach your resume or CV to the email. 

  7. If you don't hear back in 7-10 days, send a polite follow-up email.

  8. Once you commit to a research position, follow through and update other interested faculty members.
