What are point-of-care tools?

Point-of-care resources are tools, usually in the form of mobile applications or mobile-friendly websites, that allow healthcare providers to provide a reliable diagnosis or therapy quickly at the patient's point of care.

These tools:

  • include the best and most recent evidence-based research
  • provide summaries, linking out to relevant articles and guidelines
  • should be graded or measured for quality and updated regularly
  • are easy to search

Point-of-care tools come in a variety of disciplines from drug interventions and interactions to visual tools of skin conditions. Learn more about the HSC mobile applications and other online resources by browsing this guide. You can also contact us if you have questions or need assistance.
