What is BrowZine?

BrowZine allows you to browse scholarly journals available from HSC Library or from open sources on your tablet, iPhone or via the Web.

Access thousands of scholarly journals from your mobile device.
View complete issues of journals, including the table of contents.
Create a personal library of up to 64 favorite journals for easy access on your BrowZine interface.
Be alerted when a new issue of a journal is published.
Save articles on your mobile device to read later, even when you are offline.
Download BrowZine articles to Zotero, Mendeley, and other citation management services to help keep your reference sources organized.

When to use other resources:

When you want to do in depth research. The BrowZine interface only displays recent issues of journals and it does not include a function for searching within or across journals.
When an online scholarly journal is not yet accessible via BrowZine. BrowZine currently has agreements with a wide range of scholarly publishers but not necessarily all that provide journals available online at HSC.
When you want to do light reading. BrowZine only includes scholarly journals and not popular magazines or newspapers.
When a journal is not yet available in an online format. Many disciplines have publications that are only available in print.

Installing BrowZine to your Tablet or iPhone

BrowZine is available via the Web.
BrowZine is currently available for iPad, iPhone, Android tablets and phones, Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD.
- Open the Apple Store, Google Play, or Amazon Store on your mobile device.
- Search for BrowZine in your store and follow the instructions for installation.
- Once you have installed BrowZine, open the Choose Library menu at the top of the BrowZine screen, search for and select "University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC)."
On next screen, you will be prompted to enter your EUID and passphrase. Authenticate with 2-factor, then tap the Continue button.
Start browsing! Use the Subject dropdown menu to browse the subject categories or Titles A-Z to find a specific journal by name.

Setting up your Personal Library

Use My Bookshelf to organize and track your frequently-used journals and stay up-to-date with the latest issues with just one click. You can sync your Bookshelf between your mobile devices and the web. You'll find detailed instructions in the BrowZine FAQ.
