UNT Health researchers who receive funding through an NIH-sponsored grant must demonstrate compliance with the Public Access Policy when submitting an application, proposal, or progress report to the NIH. Grant awardees should include the PubMed Central Identification Number (PMCID) for each paper that was accepted for publication that resulted from their NIH award, even if they are not an author or co-author on the paper.
There are several ways to locate the PMCID number.
Citation in My Bibliography within My NCBI
Emailed to PI and authors by NIHMS when article processing is complete
Citation in PubMed
Make sure you copy the PMCID, not the PMID!
Citation in PubMed Central
To search for embargoed articles, select "Include embargoed articles" under Text Availability in the left side menu to add embargoed articles to the results of your search. Then select "Embargoed" under Filter your results at the top or the right side menu to limit the search results to the embargoed articles.
Given a set of PubMed IDs (PMIDs), you can use this converter to obtain the corresponding PMCIDs and/or NIHMS IDs if they exist.
If you are using the latest version of EndNote for citation management, your PMCID should be included.
