English as a Learned Language

These resources are meant to help support those looking to improve their English language skills while maintaining their own cultural and linguistic backgrounds. For non-native English speakers studying in the United States, the ability to practice and improve their English is helpful for both the classroom and everyday living. English is currently the predominant language of science and research, which means that reading and understanding academic English is important for those pursuing degrees in these fields. At the same time, the ability to comfortably converse in everyday English can help reduce feelings of isolation, frustration, and confusion for those living in the United States, and ensure that they are able to clearly communicate with those around them.
