Patient health resources, also referred to as consumer health information, are intended for patients, caregivers, families, and the general public. These resources are generally created using terms and language that are accessible to a broader audience. The purpose of these resources is to improve health outcomes by encouraging self-care and prevention as well as generate an informed patient population.
The healthcare experience is a shared relationship between doctors and patients. The decisions made related to health should be a shared experience. By providing easy-to-understand resources, patients can contribute to that relationship and be empowered to contribute to the conversation.
