AIM-AHEAD

AIM-AHEAD LogoAIM-AHEAD (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Research Diversity) is the National Institute of Health's program intended to address health disparities in underrepresented communities. AIM-AHEAD is a consortium of institutions and organizations that work together to increase diversity in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning fields (both in researchers and data). 

HSC's Institute of Health Disparities received a $100 million grant for the AIM-AHEAD program! Dr. Vishwanatha (Professor of Molecular and Medical Genetics and Director of the Texas Center for Health Disparities at HSC) is the contact principal investigator of the Leadership Core of AIM-AHEAD and is responsible for leading, recruiting, and coordinating the AIM-AHEAD Consortium.
